Spare Bedroom

Project Overview

For this project, I transformed a narrow spare bedroom into a serene and stylish retreat with a Scandi vibe. The design focused on maximising the limited space, while incorporating key elements to create a cohesive and inviting atmosphere.

The existing petrol blue bed served as the focal point of the room, anchoring the design with its rich, deep hue. To complement this standout piece, we opted for a palette of blue and green tones that added depth and tranquillity to the space.

Given the room's narrow dimensions, traditional bedside tables were not feasible. Instead, we designed a bespoke small corner table to provide necessary support without overwhelming the space. This custom piece was both practical and elegant, seamlessly blending into the room's aesthetic.

Lighting played a crucial role in enhancing the Scandi vibe. We selected a wicker lampshade that added a touch of natural texture and warmth, creating a soft, inviting glow that perfectly suited the calming, minimalist design.

The walls were kept light and airy, providing a neutral backdrop that allowed the blue and green accents to shine. Textiles and accessories in varying shades of blue and green were thoughtfully chosen to add layers of visual interest and comfort. Crisp white bedding, soft throws, and accent cushions in coordinating tones created a harmonious and relaxing environment.
